Huron's drivers are now under a texting while driving ban. Under the new law that took effect Thursday, drivers can be slapped with a citation if they're caught texting behind the wheel.
But that's just one of several reason someone could be pulled over.
Huron police can also ticket drivers for other distractions if those distractions cause them to break another law. That includes anything from applying makeup to eating in the car.
The possibility of receiving a ticket for eating in the car was the topic of discussions on national TV programs and some websites.
A Huron City Council member says the law is not designed to control what people do in their cars.
