Sioux Falls, SD
A fundraiser at an eastside Sioux Falls restaurant on Saturday will help make sure all students can eat lunch at school.
Money raised during the event will go to the Sioux Falls School District's Angel Fund, which is distributed to students whose families struggle to keep the student's lunch account balance out of the red.
The Barrel House is hosting Hungry Hearts Day
from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will include inflatables, face painting and a hog roast.
On top of the restaurant donating 25 percent of the event's sales to the cause, workers are giving 25 percent of their tips, as well.
Last year, the Sioux Falls School District had $40,000 in unpaid lunch debt.
