Four Confirmed Killed In C-130 Crash

The North Carolina Air National Guard has confirmed four airmen died in Sunday's C-130 crash in the Black Hills.  Two other airmen are injured and still recovering in the hospital.

The four men killed include Lieutenant Colonel Paul Mikeal, Major Joseph McCormick, Major Ryan David, and Senior Master Sergeant Robert Cannon, all from North Carolina.

Two airmen are injured and still hospitalized.  Their names will not be released.

The C-130 was one of two aircraft with the NCANG's 145th Airlift Wing equipped with the Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System, or MAFFS, sent to help fight wildfires in the Rocky Mountain Area.

The six crew members were fighting the White Draw Fire near Edgemont Sunday when MAFFS #7 crashed around 6:30 p.m. MDT.  The cause is under investigation.
