Memorial Day weekend is a popular time for campers to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Just a week before the holiday, Blue Mounds State Park in Minnesota is dealing with E. coli in the water.
Rangers at Blue Mounds say campers shouldn't drink, brush teeth, wash dishes, or bath in most cases while camping at the State Park.
The Department of Health tested and found E. coli in the campground's water wells last week.
The park is providing water for campers. Its are also emailing people before their reservation dates and letting them know about the situation, and letting them back out of their reservations without having to pay the reservation cancellation fee. Park Rangers are checking the situation regularly for the earliest that campers can start using the water.
Coming up tonight on KELOLAND News, we hear from a camper about how her family is dealing with the water issue.
