Drug Arrest Leads Sioux Falls Authorities To Another

Sioux Falls Police have taken several pounds of marijuana and synthetic marijuana off the streets after a three-day investigation.

On Sunday night, the Sioux Falls Drug Task Force was monitoring a home in central Sioux Falls for drug activity. Officers pursued a car that eventually crashed into a house at 1st Street and Blauvelt Avenue. 29-year-old Ousman Dibba was arrested after he threw a backpack containing three pounds of marijuana in a backyard nearby.

Following Dibba's arrest, officers tracked down 23-year-old Ervins Diaz-Herrera during the investigation and found he had three pounds of marijuana as well. When detectives searched Diaz-Herrera's home on North Menlo Avenue, more than a pound of synthetic marijuana and $12,000 cash were found inside.

Sioux Falls Police said it's the largest amount of synthetic marijuana located since state laws made the manufactured drug illegal a few years ago.
