Drones Could Assist State Agencies

Lately there has been a buzz over drones — but those devices could be used for research in KELOLAND.

Matthew Paulson owns a DJI Phantom 2 Vision drone. The self-proclaimed "techy" uses his drone for fun - but a device like this could soon be put to work. State officials say they hope to use a drone in the near future.

It would fly over rural roads, send back video, and researchers could take a look at it and decide what areas need work and maintenance. Now researchers have to travel the roads — nearly 80,000 miles — to get a good assessment.
