A two-day hearing for a Watertown teenager accused of killing a Sioux Falls man is underway.
The defense wants to move 18-year-old Trevor Kruthoff's case out of adult court.
He was 17 when he was charged with murder in the death of 20-year-old Jordan LeBeau. Authorities say Kruthoff and his high school friend, Brian Anderson, went to LeBeau's home planning to steal $100,000 they heard he had there. LeBeau's father came home and the four started fighting. Jordan LeBeau was duct taped, beaten and shot to death.
Kruthoff's mother and father were on the witness stand Thursday morning, talking about their son and how he got mixed up with the wrong set of friends.
Since Kruthoff was 17-years-old at the time of the crime in December 2013, his attorney wants the teen to be prosecuted as a juvenile.
