Becky O'Connell's mom says she will hate the man who killed her daughter long after he is dead.
Tina Curl says she doesn't expect to find peace or closure, but says she will be relieved when Donald Moeller is no longer breathing.
Curl and her husband drove to Sioux Falls this week from New York to witness the execution.
Even though Becky would have been 32 by now, Curl still thinks of Becky as her little girl.
"She'd never went to the store alone before that day. She kept asking and asking if she could. Finally I said, 'Go ahead and come right back.' Biggest mistake I ever made," Tina Curl said.
She says she has been waiting for this day for more than 20 years, but says a lethal injection is too good for Moeller. The years since the crime haven't diminished this mother's anger.
"Me with a knife would be fitting for him. Tit for tat. I wouldn't have a problem with it," Curl said.
Curl says she's not religious, but says the last time she was at the crime scene, she told her daughter it was time to come home and she no longer feels a heaviness when she visits there.
