The woman who pleaded guilty to meth charges following the discovery of a dead toddler in her Wagner home will be sentenced Thursday.
29-year-old Laurie Cournoyer is facing 30 years in prison for possessing meth in her Wagner home and in the Charles Mix County Jail.
Cournoyer was arrested last summer after the body of two-year-old RieLee Lovell was discovered in the closet of her home.
A juvenile who lived in the home was taken into custody for the death.
But prosecutors say Cournoyer was high on meth in the days leading up to the discovery and didn't report the child's death in time.
The sentencing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday in Lake Andes.
KELOLAND News will be at the sentencing. You can listen to live audio in the courtroom starting at 10 a.m.
