Committee To Consider Panhandling Ordinance Changes

sioux falls, sd

A Sioux Falls City Council Committee will consider changes to an ordinance Tuesday night that would prohibit public panhandling.

Sioux Falls Police say they've received more complaints about people sitting by the side of the road and asking for money so they've made changes to the ordinance to make it illegal to solicit money from traffic.  The ordinance would not prohibit businesses from advertising near traffic.

The city council's public services committee will consider the changes before it goes to the full council.
