The Brown and Day County Commissions plan to meet Tuesday to discuss the future of the Bath Township fire district.
Bath firefighters want their department to become a satellite station of the Groton Area Fire Protection and Rescue District.
Commissioners will listen to public testimony during the 2 p.m. meeting at the Groton Community Center.
The Bath department was facing the possibility of closure because it did not have 15 volunteers. That's the minimum number required by South Dakota law to keep a fire department open.
