Cleaning Up After JazzFest

Sioux Falls, SD

The 2013 Sioux Falls JazzFest came to a close and the JazzFest Executive Director says the event was a huge success.

Yankton Trail Park is empty today after thousands came to enjoy the sounds last night. This morning people came out to pick up the pieces after last nights big headlining concert by Grammy Award Winning artist Sheryl Crow.

JazzFest Officials say takes a few hours to pick up the trash and tear down the tents and the stages, but Yankton Trail Park will be back to normal by tonight.

There were even some people helping pick up today that were trying to cash in, by using a metal detector.

“I've found probably two dollars worth of coins and just got started and I will probably end up with $10-$15 bucks,” James Carroll said as he was using a metal detector.

The Sioux Falls Jazz Fest Executive Director says right now they are tied with last years record: they had an estimated 125,000 people come and go during all three days of Jazz Fest.
