The city now has six stainless steel sanders to help get rid of snow. The older sanders were getting old and the city decided to upgrade.
"It cost about $10,000 to sandblast and re-paint these trucks, and when we have 50 different sanders out there, that's a lot of money. Now we don't have to do any of that because the truck is going to last 10 years for us." Sioux Falls Street Manager Galynn Huber said.
In addition to the sanders, the city's also setting up cameras at intersections around town to see where to send them.
