City Could Face Wrongful Death Lawsuit After Falls Park Drowning

The City of Sioux Falls has received notice that it will likely face a wrongful death lawsuit.

The case would be in connection with last month's deadly drowning at Falls Park.

KELOLAND News obtained a copy of the letter. Lawyers are investigating what they believe was a "wrongful death" at Falls Park on March 18. That was the day 5-year-old Maggie Zaiger tried to touch the foam, fell into the water and drowned.

The notice asks for any Falls Park safety reports or audits from 1980 to now. It also asks for surveillance video.
