Charges Reduced In Rapid City Shooting

Prosecutors have reduced the charges filed against a Rapid City man accused in last week's shooting death in a motel parking lot.

Officials in Rapid City arrested 30-year-old Charles Birdshead Monday night and originally charged him with a string of crimes including second degree murder.

Tuesday morning, prosecutors reduced the charges to first degree manslaughter and commission of a crime with a firearm.

The body of 33-year-old Eustacio Marrufo was found with a gunshot wound in the chest on January 7.

Derek Olson was in the courtroom and will bring you more details of the investigation tonight on KELOLAND News.
