Camper Burglary Caught On Surveillance Video

Sioux Falls, SD

A Sioux Falls couple was packing up their camper for vacation over the weekend and had loaded a few valuable items inside.  Sunday night, a group of burglars hit the neighborhood and cleaned them out.

Nolie and Todd Brower were looking forward to taking a vacation to the Black Hills and started packing their camper for the trip.

"We've been loading stuff the past couple of days and of course you don't lock it; you forget to lock it.  It's just a stupid mistake that you made," Nolie Brower said.

Nolie realized that mistake when she left for work the next morning and the camper door was wide open.

"And went and woke everybody up in the house and I said, 'I think we've been robbed.'  My TV; I had a Fire Kindle in there.  I had a Chrome book, a notebook computer type thing.  My Coach bag that was valued at about $350 was in there," Brower said.

They filed a police report and later remembered that their neighbors had a security camera and hoped it captured a clue.

"Everything's on camera," Brower said.  "We can see that it's six kids and they run across our yard and you can see them go in the camper. All of it takes place in about ten minutes.  They came with backpacks and flashlights, so they were out to steal. They checked all the cars across the street. They were out to steal that night," Brower said.

You see the group of young people walk back down the street, jump in the getaway car and drive away.

While the thieves did get away with a lot of stuff in the Brower's camper, there is one thing they did miss: a bag full of money.  But that's little consolation to the Browers.

“You just feel violated.  Everything changes.  It's horrible. It's a horrible feeling," Nolie Brower said.

The Browers say they'd feel a lot better if this video led to the burglars getting arrested.  If you recognize any of the people in the surveillance video, you're asked to call police.
