Bucyrus Residents Gather For Prayer Service

Bucyrus, nd

Some areas in the small southwestern North Dakota town of Bucyrus were still smoldering when residents gathered for a prayer service in the wake of a devastating wildfire.

The fire last Wednesday destroyed 24 structures including four homes. But it spared the church in the town of about two dozen residents where they gathered Sunday to find fellowship.

Evelyn Krug was one of the residents who lost a home. She says she was able to grab only her medication, her purse, her dog and her prayer book. She says right now, she needs to be with other people.

Bill Thompson says people in Bucyrus aren't quitters. He says that's brought the community together.
