Sioux Falls, SD
Bond is set at $50,000 cash for a man accused of stabbing another man at concert in Sioux Falls on Thursday night. 37-year-old Larry Moss faces multiple counts of aggravated assault.
Authorities said he apparently got into in a argument with another man inside of Bigs Sports Bar and Billiards on West 12th Street during a concert. The two took it outside, and when another man broke up the fight, Moss allegedly stabbed that man in his inner arm. It cast a shadow on a night that was supposed to be about music.
"It was a great night. Everybody was having fun," owner Gary Kludt said.
Authorities said Moss knows the victim and the man he initially argued with. In court, it was revealed the argument started over a woman.
"We try to do everything we possible, but you know, every person that comes in here, we don't know what their histories are, or anything," Kludt said.
Kludt, who also spoke to KELOLAND News in April about an 80-person fight, said he takes great measures to keep his customers safe. On Thursday, he had four off-duty police officers and two security guards on hand. He also has a no re-entry policy.
"We remind all the people who come in that you're supposed to bring what you need in. Otherwise, once you're out, we're not going to let you back in," Kludt said.
In court, Moss's attorney said her client acted in self-defense and feared for his life. Moss has a long record of prior offenses dating back more than 15 years -- which includes drug charges, weapons violations, and stolen property. Kludt said this incident is not what his place is all about.
"There are a lot of people in the music industry in Sioux Falls who are very talented. They're disturbed about these things happening, because it's not reflective on them. They want to perform, they want to have fun, they want to create something," Kludt said.
