19th Annual Hot Harley Nights Kicks Off In Sioux Falls

Sioux Falls, SD

Engines are revving this weekend for Hot Harley Nights and the sound of choppers rolling though Sioux Falls is a great sight for Make-A-Wish South Dakota.

"Hot Harley Nights is really one of the biggest fundraisers for Make-A-Wish South Dakota," Make-A-Wish SD President/CEO Paul Krueger said.

When this year's Hot Harley Nights wraps up, Krueger says in the 19 years the event has been put on be believes the event will have raised more than $2 million to the organization.

"It's grown and grown over the years and has now grown to be one of the biggest events in the area, one that people come from the region and across the country to enjoy and we are just blessed to be a part of it," Kruger said.

Char Roth, the CFO at J&L Harley Davidson is busy getting everything set for this weekend. From a casino run, silent auction, a motorcycle raffle, and even a large motorcycle parade though Sioux Falls that will have more than 40,000 motorcycles featured in it, this weekend is centered on Make-A-Wish.

"We really want to encourage people to come out, line the parade route, see all the great bikes, and cheer on the kids that leading the parade in the corvette, those are the wish kids and that is what this is all about," said Roth.

As many are polishing the chrome on their bikes and getting ready to jump on their hogs, Krueger says this event means the world to wish kids.

"Not only for the awareness for Make A Wish and our mission, but the dollars because we can't grant wishes to kids if we don't have the money to do that, an average wish today is $7,000," Krueger said.
