Immigration was at the forefront at Mount Rushmore on Thursday.
The national park held its annual naturalization ceremony where 158 people from 58 different countries became U.S. citizens. For the new citizens, it's an exciting beginning to a new future in America.
"It's exciting. I feel like part of the American people. I feel involved," new citizen Siyade Nemera said.
Gaining U.S. citizenship can be a lengthy process that takes years. It's easier for members of the armed forces, some of whom also gained their citizenship on Thursday.
