Teens Need More Sleep

If you've got a teenager at home, chances are getting them out of bed is a daily struggle. Now doctors agree that teens should sleep later.

The American Academy of Pediatrics says middle and high school students shouldn't have to start school until 8:30 in the morning or later.

The benefits include a lower risk of being overweight or suffering depression, better grades, and they're less likely to be involved in a car crash.

Just what time your teen has to be at school, usually varies by school district. In Sioux Falls, middle schools start the day at 9 a.m.; high schools have staggered starts beginning at 8:10 a.m.
