Stretching can prevent pulled or sore muscles, and increase flexibility as you age.
Offered at Avera Fitness, Just Stretch is for both men and women of any age and takes just 30 minutes of your time.
81-year-old Tom Houle has been taking the class for the last seven years.
"For a long time, I didn't take the class. I worked out on my own, and that was good. But it was not as well rounded as the class," Houle said.
Joni Anderson has been teaching Just Stretch for 10 years. She says stretching is something everyone can benefit from.
"What happens when we're younger is we don't think we need to because we probably still have some flexibility. And then one day we wake up and we're like, 'I used to be able to do that and now I can't,'" Anderson said.
Without stretching before a workout, you're more prone to an injury, soreness and over time, loss of flexibility.
"We're not trying to get everybody to a certain point because everybody's going to be different in their flexibility but just to work with what you got, and keep that," Anderson said.
You don't need weights or fitness equipment to take this class. All you need to stretch is some motivation and a good mat.
"There's so many different things that we do in the class that loosened up more muscles that made me feel better," Houle said.
And while you can also stretch at home, this class offers a guided routine and help for the proper ways to stretch, at your own pace.
