While many people are able to relax and have some fun in the sun on this 4th of July holiday, it can still be stressful.
But there are a couple of healthy habits that are easy learn and you can use everyday to help beat the stress.
"Eating healthy throughout the day and trying to fit in fitness in each day. It's just a part of the way I like to live," Twila Smith said.
Now that Smith is retired she has time to work out regularly.
"I was a family and consumer science teacher for my whole career. So I know about healthy lifestyle, it's about a matter of you need to put it into good use and live it," Smith said.
By living a healthier lifestyle she has couple of routines she says will help her stay on track.
"Every morning, I get my vitamins out and I put them in front of my husband's cereal bowls and in front of mine so you always take your vitamins every day. And we probably work out for an hour or an hour and fifteen minutes.
Health experts say creating a habit will help you make better choices.
"You're going to feel more comfortable, once you get in a routine and you're going to find classes that you like and become familiar with them. So it makes you feel comfortable and confident, while working out," Sanford Wellness Center Personal Trainer Summer Bronson said.
Other habits you may want to pick up on include: Take five deep breaths before starting your day to help eliminate stress. Stand up every time the phone rings so you're not sitting for long periods at time. Also, if you have trouble remembering to take your vitamins, keep your supplements near your toothbrush.
"Just simple habits like when you are at work, take water with you and just make healthier about yourself and confident because you are making those healthier choices." Bronson said.
Smith chooses to work out for at least an hour several times a week.
"It tones you muscles more than build your muscles. I feel that I am more toned and stronger and I want to stay strong so I can stay active in the future." Smith said.
