Summer vacation is winding down, and tens of thousands of South Dakota students are getting ready to return to the classroom.
On this Inside KELOLAND, we look at what you can do now to make the transition easier on your kids. Plus, South Dakota is leaving behind some parts of No Child Left Behind. South Dakota's Secretary of Education talks about what changes could be in store for students and teachers.
This is also the time of year the community comes together to make sure every child has the tools they need to succeed in school. We check in on Project SOS to see which items are still needed and just how many students the Banquet hopes to help.
Volunteers are needed to move all of the backpacks from the Banquet to Whittier Middle School at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 16. Contact the Banquet if you'd like to help.
