South Dakota Ranked 22nd In ACT Scores

South Dakota remained just above average among states on the ACT college entrance exam.

At 21.9, the state's average composite score is ranked 22nd in the nation. Nationally, the average 2014 ACT score is 20.9. The state also tested above average in English, math, reading and science.

6,724 South Dakota students, or 78 percent of the state's graduating class, took the exam.
