The interim president of Dakota State University in Madison has been given the job permanently.
The South Dakota Board of Regents on Monday appointed David Borofsky to succeed Douglas Knowlton, who resigned to take a vice chancellor position with the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System.
Borofsky most recently was provost and chief academic officer at Denver-based Westwood College, which has 18 sites in six states. He was named interim president at DSU in January and began his duties on campus in February.
Regents President Kathryn Johnson says Borofsky has far exceeded the expectations set for him. Borofsky says he's impressed with the university and excited to be the school's 22nd president.
