Sioux Falls, SD
Freshmen pack Z-Hall on the University of Sioux Falls campus, getting ready for the first day of school.
There are some laughs and smiles as these freshmen learn about the way of life on USF campus.
"It's my favorite time of the year, when students come back after the summer. It's been so quiet and they just bring life back to campus and into the community so that's just really fun," Assistant Director of Residents Life Ashley Maturan said.
Maturan says this year there will be more activities on campus, something every student will be able to participate in.
"I'm pretty excited; this is going to be a great year," student Alex Robey said.
Students say the best thing freshman can do, get involved in every activity.
"Just do everything, we have a lot of things planned for the week, get involved and just meet other people that are in the same boat as them and we have all been through it to even as upperclassmen," senior Rachel Foster said.
For freshman and their parents nervous about starting a college career, USF gives one piece of advice.
"There are going to be a lot of new things so be open and willing to learn and take all of that in, but also be accepting and trying new things. I think that's a really great aspect. Get some sleep, that's super important," Maturan said.
