SD Childhood Obesity Rate Unchanged

Statistics out Friday show childhood obesity in South Dakota has stayed the same over the last year. 


The 2007-2008 survey found 16.8% of school-age kids were overweight, while 16.3% were obese. 



Health officials are glad to see the rates didn't increase, but at the same time, they didn't go down either.

Stairway To Good Health

For some it's an easy choice - if they like getting physical activity. But others need an extra push. That's exactly what you'll get if you work at City Hall in Sioux Falls. It's a StairWell to better health. 



If you're taking the stairs at work, you may not even realize you're sneaking in a work out. 



Sioux Falls Health and Wellness Coordinator Rana DeBoer says, “Small bouts of physical activity, several small bouts of activity are equally effective as one long bout of physical activity.” 



And that's the whole idea behind City Hall's stairwell makeover.

Safety First At The Grill
