With its medieval-design, this hospital certainly doesn't look like most from the outside. But what about the inside?
As you walk though the doors of the hospital, you'll first enter the Carlson Great Hall. It's complete with a roaring fireplace, of course a gift shop and then to your left is where you check in.
If you're a visitor or a family member, you sign in at the desk. You'll then be handed a color-coded lanyard depending on what floor your child is on.
If you're child is outpatient, they'll be headed toward the Specialty Clinic, which is just around the corner. Sanford's Specialty Clinic used to be housed on a different part Sanford's campus away from the old Children's Hospital. But now the two are here in the new hospital to better serve patients.
Each hallway in the Children's Specialty Clinic is color coded to match the color on each child's badge. There's also a character at the end of the hallway and on the child's badge to show them where they're going. It's all about safety and providing a great experience.
