KELOLAND TV is pleased to announce the recipients in the 2012 Tradition of Caring Grant program.  11 nonprofit organizations from across KELOLAND will share $160,000 in airtime on KELOLAND TV and My UTV. 

43 nonprofit organizations submitted applications.  The 11 chosen were:  Aspire Foundation in Aberdeen, SD; Learning Disabilities Association of South Dakota based in Chamberlain; Lifesource Sioux Falls, SD; Lunch Is Served in Sioux Falls, SD; South Dakota Emergency Medical Technicians’ Association based in Hartford, SD; St. Francis House in Sioux Falls, SD; The Compass Center in Sioux Falls, SD; Western Resources for dis-ABLED Independence in Rapid City, SD; Fellowship of Christian Athletes based in Sioux Falls, SD; Senior Companions of SD in Sioux Falls, SD; and Here4YOUth in Sioux Falls, SD.

“We are pleased to support the mission of each of these organizations with an effective television campaign.” said Jay Huizenga KELOLAND TV Vice President and General Manager.  “While only 11 were chosen, the others may turn up in future public service efforts and in news coverage.”

KELO-TV www.keloland.com is a Young Broadcasting station. Young Broadcasting owns ten television stations and the national television representation firm, Adam Young Inc. Five stations are affiliated with the ABC Television Network (WKRN-TV - Nashville, TN, WTEN-TV - Albany, NY, WRIC-TV - Richmond, VA, WATE-TV - Knoxville, TN, and WBAY-TV - Green Bay, WI), three are affiliated with the CBS Television Network (WLNS-TV - Lansing, MI, KLFY-TV - Lafayette, LA and KELO-TV - Sioux Falls, SD) and one is affiliated with the NBC Television Network (KWQC-TV - Davenport, IA). KRON-TV - San Francisco, CA is a MyNetworkTV affiliate. In addition, KELO-TV-Sioux Falls, SD is also the MyNetworkTV affiliate in that market through the use of its digital channel capacity.
