"We're going to be switching from the UHF to the VHF band here in the Sioux Falls area, and in the Watertown-Aberdeen area, we're not on digital right now, but we will be after 9:30 a.m. on Friday," KELO-TV Director of Marketing and Creative Services Paul Farmer said.
After connecting your converter box with your antenna and TV set, you'll want to start the re-scanning process to find our broadcast channels.
It varies by model, but for many, you can scan for channels by going into the menu of the converter box. Reading through your instruction booklet is your best bet.
Here's what the channel line-up will look like:
- KELO's digital channel is 11.1.
- KDLO's digital channel is 3.1.
- KPLO's digital channel is 6.1.
- KCLO's digital channel is 15.1.
If you have any issues along the way, there is help available.
"What you'll need to do is call the DTV's hotline at 1-888-CALL-FCC or call us here at KELOLAND-TV," Farmer said.
In the future, it may also be a good idea to periodically re-scan your converter box to find new channels or channels that may be coming in clearer.
