Police in Vermillion are investigating a weekend vandalism spree.
Chief Matt Betzen says vandals targeted cars in a four-to-five block area from Plum and Pine Streets to North University Street early Saturday morning. The criminals slashed tires, smashed windows and broke into several vehicles.
Authorities say the thieves were looking for cash, electronics, ATM cards and cigarettes.
Betzen says officers have collected DNA evidence as the investigation continues.
