The University of South Dakota Beacom School of Business presents Will Keim, Ph.D., the featured guest speaker for the 2012 “Leadership for the 21st Century” lecture at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27 at Aalfs Auditorium inside Robert L. Slagle Hall on the USD campus.

The lecture, sponsored by the Beacom Opportunity Fund and Arthur Volk Symposium, is free and open to the public.

Keim, founder of The Character Institute and president of Will Keim Speaks! Inc., has spoken to more than 2.5 million students, faculty and staff members at more than 2,500 college and corporate campuses in North America. His corporate clients include AT&T, IBM, Delta Air Lines, State Farm Insurance, The Ford Family Foundation, Swiss Army Brands and LensCrafters. Keim has written or co-authored more than a dozen books and has four children with his wife of 30 years, Donna Basham Keim. He earned a B.A. and M.A. in Communication Arts and Religious Studies from the University of Pacific, and a Ph.D. in College Student Services Administration from Oregon State University.

The Beacom Opportunity Fund provides resources for initiatives that promote the Beacom School of Business’s students and programs while the Volk Symposium honors the legacy of Arthur A. Volk, who joined the USD faculty in 1948. During his 36-year tenure at USD, he taught every accounting course offered by the school as well as other business courses. The Symposium was established as a fund to bring together students, academicians and business leaders for discussion of current topics of interest.
