SIOUX FALLS, SD -

The lights are on for most people living in downtown Sioux Falls, but power is still out for a few downtown businesses.

Xcel Energy is hopeful businesses in downtown Sioux Falls will not go much longer without power.

"Our estimate is that we believe that we should have this back in service by Sunday morning by seven," Xcel Energy Principal Manager Jim Wilcox said.

According to Xcel Energy, at 12:19 p.m. Saturday, service was restored to 95 percent of the 200 customers who were without power overnight.

"We've made some great process in the last 24 hours the two main feeder lines have been put in place and now they are being tested," Wilcox said.

Xcel Energy crews have been working vigorously for the last 24 hours restoring power to areas of downtown Sioux Falls.

"It's a big job and they are doing it right, they are doing it safely, safety is the first thing we do, so we are very proud of our guys for the hard work they've put in," Wilcox said.

Dozens of crew members from Sioux Falls and the Twin Cities have been working at different sites replacing new wires. And according to the city, the work from here on out is up to Xcel Energy.

"[We are] mainly just supporting Excel Energy with perimeter security, barricades, those sorts of things," Sioux Falls Emergency Manager Regan Smith said.

Crews continue to work as downtown businesses wait for their electricity to switch back on.

Here is a diagram from Xcel Entergy showing where exactly crews are restoring wires:
