Vigil Held For 50-Year-Old Sioux Falls Man
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

After the death of 50-year-old Cresencio Conde-Vargas some in the community are coming together to morn his loss in a prayer vigil.

They are called ‘Take Back the Site’ vigils. It's a group of people who come together after a death resulting from violence happens in the city.

During Saturday's vigil the group prayed over the home Vargas was found murdered in.

The group says the purpose of the vigil is to reclaim the site for nonviolence.

“Our faith tells us that God is able to make things happen and so we come before God and we ask God to heal the land," Harold Christensen said.

Vargas was found dead on January 19 at his home on 1000 block of East 8th Street.

Authorities say 22-year-old Robert Bass III has been officially charged with murder. He is accused of beating Vargas to death. Bass entered a not guilty plea.
