SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Sioux Falls Police were busy looking for an armed suspect Tuesday night after a gas station robbery.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Sioux Falls Police Department was called to this Get N' Go on the 5400 block of East Arrowhead Parkway.

"[The suspect] came in, said I want your money, and it sounds like, you know, at one point he was getting a little aggressive and actually stabbed the counter with it [butcher knife] a few times to get the clerks attention," Lt. Blaine Larsen with the Sioux Falls Police Department said.

Larsen says the suspect is a black man in his mid to late 20's, around 6'3" to 6'4" with a thin build. He was using a red bandana to cover his face and wearing a black jacket, jeans and a backpack and wielding a butcher knife.

It's close to the same description as a man who robbed a Casey's General Store on November 11 and December 6.

"They very well could be related. When you pointed out the Casey's similarities, very likely, it could be the same guy who, you know, every week or two is going to go back out an try to restock," Larsen said.

And authorities say the public can be their biggest help in figuring out who's behind a crime like this.

"Especially where they're in and out of a convenient store, definitely helps if a family member or a friend knows this person they hang with suddenly came in to a large amount of cash that they don't mind spending quick. A lot of them are solved that way,” Larsen said.

Larsen says whether the robberies are related or not, they will treat them all the same way. If you have any information, you're asked to call the Sioux Falls Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 605-367-7007.
