SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Investigators who arrested three men in a drug bust in Sioux Falls Thursday also found nearly 2,000 pills that are used to make meth.

The Sioux Falls Area Drug Task Force carried out a search warrant on north French Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Inside authorities found a large quantity of crystal meth, drug paraphernalia, a small amount of cocaine and marijuana, and 1,943 pseudoephedrine pills.

The home belongs to 63-year-old Lester Estenson.  He faces a long list of charges, including two counts of possession of a controlled substance, intent to distribute and violating a drug-free zone.  The home is near the Joe Foss School on Cliff Avenue.

Andrew Weaver, 37, and Michael Voyles, 42, were also in the home and had been staying there for a short time. Weaver is charged with inhabiting a place where drugs are kept.  Voyles faces that same charge as well as possession of a controlled substance.

Officials say the amount of pills investigators found is substantial and shows men had intent to make more meth in the future.

"I can't recall seeing this many pseudoephedrine pills at one particular bust," Officer Sam Clemens said.

Shawn Neisteadt will have the latest on the investigation tonight on KELOLAND News.
