The Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity ReStore Outlet is celebrating its fifth anniversary this weekend.
ReStore currently recycles 396 tons of material each year through the store and with local recycling agencies. That is the equivalent of 24 tractor-trailer loads – which otherwise would have gone to the landfill - for every year the store has been in operation.
“With the amount of recycling our customers and donors do for the community and for our organization, we wanted to give back to them and to say thank you,” said ReStore Manager Amie Roper.
As part of the celebration, refreshments will be served during store hours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10. Everything in the store will be 35 percent off during those two days.
ReStore is located at 610 E. Omaha St. and is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Saturdays and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays. Donations are accepted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Donations may include lumber, cabinetry, doors, windows, hardware, paint, appliances and furniture.
New, used and surplus donated goods are sold in the ReStore at low prices, with proceeds helping to build Habitat homes for local families in need.
