MITCHELL, SD -
The city of Mitchell has reached an undisclosed settlement with three former transit drivers who said they were discriminated against because of their age or medical conditions.
Fifty-five-year-old James Nichols, 58-year-old John Robertson and 57-year-old Curtis Dumas each sued the city last year. The lawsuits eventually were combined into one case that had been scheduled for trial this week.
Attorneys for the city and the three former drivers reached a settlement after they met in mediation in Sioux Falls on Nov. 19. Both parties have agreed not to reveal the dollar figures.
