HURON, SD -

The inmate who escaped from the Beadle County Correctional Center is expected to be in court Wednesday on previous charges.

Police captured Charles Beeney, Jr. in Sioux Falls Tuesday around 6:30 p.m. after an 18-hour manhunt.

He'll arrive back in Huron just in time to return to the courthouse just in time for a sentencing hearing for his felony charge of aggravated eluding.

Those charges go back to the beginning of December when he led officials from a handful of counties and the South Dakota Highway Patrol on a chase that ended in Jerauld County when he crashed a stolen pickup in a field near Alpena.

He faces up to two years in prison on those charges.  But the Beadle County State's Attorney says he'll see more time in court after escaping from the jail Tuesday.

KELOLAND News will be in the courtroom as Beeney faces a judge and bring you the details later today.
