State, Community Representatives To Promote South Dakota At SHOT Show
PIERRE, SD -

Eleven communities, an economic development association and one company will join the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) in promoting South Dakota’s shooting, hunting and outdoors industry at the SHOT Show in Las Vegas next week.

The Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor trade show and conference, which runs from Jan. 15-18, attracts businesses from all 50 states and more than 100 countries and is the largest show of its kind.  The GOED has attended the SHOT Show for the past 12 years.

Representatives from Minnehaha County Economic Development Association and Lincoln County Economic Development Association (MCEDA/LCEDA), Madison, Webster, Sturgis, Pierre, Huron, Watertown, Huron, Rapid City, Britton, Mitchell, Aberdeen, Bar-Sto Precision of Sturgis, and the Department of Tourism will be located at booth 2950.

“South Dakota has a robust shooting, hunting and outdoors industry,” said Gov. Dennis Daugaard. “The SHOT Show is an excellent opportunity for state and local officials to connect with companies and tell them about the benefits of doing business in South Dakota.”

“The Sturgis Economic Development Corp (SEDC) and local development partners have participated in the SHOT Show for more than ten years,” said Pat Kurtenbach, SEDC President. “It is a great opportunity to connect with companies in various phases of business relocation.  Each year, allows us to strengthen those relationships, introduce others to the advantages of doing business in South Dakota, and continue to bring new economic development to the region.”
