Huron Police Captain Retires After 22 Years
HURON, SD -

The Huron mayor says a Police Captain retired Thursday night after 22 years of service.

Authorities were called to the home of Captain Dan Marotteck on August 15. Beadle County State's Attorney Michael Moore says two teenagers were drinking at the house at the time.

Zackary Cranston, 18, was cited for underage consumption at the scene. Mitchell Younie, 19, of Alpena, ran from officers. He now faces an arrest warrant on underage consumption charges.

Moore says Marotteck was home, but was in a back shed on the property.  Beadle County authorities are not pursuing any charges against Marotteck.

There's no word if Marotteck's retirement is connected to the citations.
