A grassfire threatened a Brandon home Tuesday afternoon. Fire crews from Split Rock, Brandon, and Valley Springs were called to a fire at 26270 McHardy Road just south of town.
Crews say by the time they got there, the fire had spread so much it threatened a home and nearby cornfields. They quickly put out the blaze, but say it did threaten an outbuilding on the property. Crews remained on scene all afternoon putting out hot spots.
A fifteen year-old boy was taken a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Crews are still determining the cause of the fire.
