Aberdeen Plows Clear The Way For DriversBy

People in Aberdeen are digging out of the snow for the start of their work week. The city received about eight inches over the weekend, which is keeping crews and homeowners very busy.
Aberdeen is in the middle of a city-wide snow removal alert; crews are finishing up north-south streets and will move to east-west at noon.
The city started the clean up process Sunday when the Public Works Department sent out plows at 4 a.m. to clear snow emergency routes and clear a path into blown-in neighborhoods.
But the major snow removal started Sunday night and continues through Monday. The city is sending its equipment out, contracting some of the work done and renting additional equipment as well.
It's experienced very few breakdowns so far. And as is typical when it's windy, some places have a lot of drifting snow to get out of the way while other spots are basically clear.
Either way, Public Works Department officials are pleased with the way things are going so far. They just ask that drivers remember to get their cars out of the way of the plows.
