There is already snow on the ground in Aberdeen and the city is watching to see what else comes.
With the potential of a decent amount over the weekend, the public works department is ready to send out plows if it needs to. It's had snow removal equipment ready to go for about a month.
At this point, it's too early to say whether the city will issue a snow alert before the weekend is over, but leaders will monitor snowfall amounts and weather conditions and respond accordingly. The city is asking people to watch for messages about moving vehicles for plows. It has those on its website and advertises through media outlets.
The snow on the ground now don't warrant an alert, but crews were out to work on slick spots at intersections.
