The Business and Industry Training Division of Southeast Technical Institute provides skills development and career opportunities to companies and individuals in the Sioux Falls region. Included in this division are on-going programs in professions such as welding, commercial driving, dental assistant, heavy equipment operations and more. Also offered are skills development training in areas such as computer applications, industrial maintenance and safety and management/supervision.
In addition to regularly scheduled coursed, this division provides customized and contract training to companies wishing to have tailor-made training programs designed specifically for their needs.
GREEN TRAINING PROGRAMS OFFERED AT NO COST TO YOU!
Business and Industry Training, a division of Southeast Tech, will be offering Green Certification Training in partnership with CleanEdison, Inc. the nation’s leading energy efficiency and renewable job-training firm, supplying industry with the skilled workforce necessary to compete in a Green Economy. These classes are offered at no cost to the individual, thanks to a grant provided by the South Dakota Department of Labor.
Classes offered: Energy Audit Training – As a Certified Building Analyst you will contribute to environmental sustainability and safety by identifying problems and solutions to home energy efficiency, air quality, safety and durability. August 30-Sep 3 M-F 8a-5p
Weatherization Certification – participants will gain an understanding of the science behind weatherization and home energy retrofits as well as the cost savings that implementing these techniques will produce. Nov 1-5 M-F 8a-4p
LEED Certification Training – LEED is an Internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.
