About Us:
The Institute of Design & Technology of SD is located in the heart of Sioux Falls near the creative and visual arts of downtown. It is an affordable option for students to stay within the Midwest and still obtain a 9-month certificate in a specialized design field. Smaller class sizes encourage a personal learning environment as well as allow the student to obtain hands-on training. All programs at IDTSD are taught by design professionals to assist the student in completing an entire entrepreneurial experience. The curriculum includes local field trips as well as a final trip to a large market to prepare for the graduation show. Students will have developed design skills marketable for employment, continue their education, or build an impressive portfolio for further advancement in education and career.

Programs:
Students in the Fashion Design Technology program will learn the basic fundamentals of illustration and the foundations of couture sewing. This 9-month program takes the student through all the steps of the design process. They will quickly progress to the studies of market trends, pattern drafting, presentation, construction, tailoring, and marketing. Specialized education for fashion design careers is often costly education with geographical challenges. IDTSD offers an affordable option.

The Interior Décor & Staging is a 9-month program which students will learn the entire process of decoration and staging. They will be introduced to the basic principles and elements of a harmonious space and how to achieve this look. They will explore the various areas of home decoration and staging. Students will be able to depict décor styles, coordinate materials, choose color schemes, identify wood species, understand typical room layouts, as well as build foundations of sketching and illustrating.
