One of South Dakota's premiere athletes is trying to ensure that his success will benefit kids in KELOLAND.

Chad Greenway kicked off his first annual Dual Sports Camp in Mitchell today.  And the Mt. Vernon native is encouraging young athletes to aim high.

As a multi-sport star at Mount Vernon High School, Chad Greenway cemented himself as one of the state's all-time elite talents. Years later, this promising N-F-L prospect wants to give back to South Dakota.

Chad Greenway says, "for me this is important we do a dual sport camp, which was big for me growing up, having played multiple sports.  This I can put my own stamp on this and do my own thing, be a little more personal to the kids...Hopefully well build on it each year."

Athletes from several surrounding towns, took part in this year's camp. And Greenway is hoping the seeds planted in Mitchell, will now grow throughout the state.

Chad says, "the young kids probably have more fun just being out here running around, but the older kids are going to have fun because there learning something they can go out and take to their high school team or their junior high team and actually do it and it's going to be fun to see them grow."

Coming from a small community has taught Greenway that hard work does get rewarded...A message he can't stress enough to his campers.

Chad says, "that's what I preach, you don't have to come from a big city or big program to be able to come to this point and be in the NFL, you can be from one of these small towns and make it, little hard work and stick-to-itness and just enjoy what you do."
