Six communities will add or increase municipal taxes with the start of the new year.

The state Department of Revenue and Regulation said the towns of Buffalo, Volga and Volin will double their sales and use tax to 2 percent.

LaBolt is adding a 1 percent sales and use tax, and Fairfax and Wood will impose a 2 percent general sales and use tax.
