A 23-year-old Eagle Butte woman acknowledges using a vehicle to seriously injure her boyfriend. Alicia Black Bear pleaded guilty in federal court to assault with a dangerous weapon, which carries a maximum of 10 years in prison and a fine.

According to a signed statement, she struck 28-year-old Kenneth Bowker III with her vehicle on Jan. 7 in Eagle Butte. He became hooked up underneath it and was dragged down a driveway, which caused head injuries that required surgery.
